Southeast planning to partner with TRCC

The Board of Regents recently approved a partnership between Southeast and Three Rivers Community College so that the Cape Girardeau area can offer community college-type programs. The partnership between the two higher education facilities is a three-year pilot experiment to determine if this kind of program will be successful.

The play will be presented on Nov. 11 - 15 at the River Campus. It is a serious adult play written by Lillian Hellman that teaches about the negative effects of lying.

Wellness seminar encourages better health education
Southeast Missouri State University's Wellness Seminars are continuing to encourage people to stay healthy. The seminars, sponsored by Recreation Services, are half-hour sessions focused on health related topics "that people may not think about or don't know about," says Takeshi Fujii, assistant director of Fitness and Wellness.

Carly Milne excites students with lecture
"Yes! I finally get to learn about sex!" said one of the raffle winners, walking back with his prize - a free copy of "Sexography" by Canadian-born Carly Milne. While Milne definitely talked about sex in her Nov. 3 discussion in the Academic Auditorium, which was sponsored by Student Activities Council and attracted high amounts of both males and females, that wasn't the only thing she discussed.

Molly Davis all-time digs leader
Molly Davis, the libero for the Southeast volleyball team, has had many achievements in her time at Southeast-both athletic and academic. Davis is the all-time leader for digs in Southeast volleyball at the Division I level and has already been named OVC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season.

Sigmas compete for charitable cause

The leaves have fallen and the weather is cooling, a sign that fall is finally here. Fall brings the basketball season as well as the Sigma Sigma Sigma philanthropy, Sigma Shootout. Every sorority at Southeast has philanthropy to raise money for a charity of their choice.
