Southeast graduate student Nathan Mendenhall will fly to Rwanda, Africa, in January, where he will be doing an internship with the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
Mendenhall will be joined by about 50 other graduate students from around the world in pursuing this internship.

The price of coal, the fuel of choice on the Southeast campus, has recently skyrocketed to a 25 percent increase.
Students may wonder why the fuel of choice for Southeast is coal.
"Coal is the cheapest way to go [for campus utilities], since the cost of natural gas just shot way up," said Southeast Energy Manager Thomas Cox.

Worlds collide as rock joins classical and opera when the Trans-Siberian Orchestra performs at the Show Me Center, Wednesday Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m.
"The show is like a rock opera," said Mike Snyder, Show Me Center Event Supervisor. "There is a lot of classical string music, but also powerful electric guitars, lasers and fog.

Two new Southeast Theater and Dance faculty members, along with Dr. Marc Strauss, will get a chance to display their choreography at the Fall Dance Concert, to be held at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Nov. 18-19 at the Rose Theatre.
Hilary Peterson, who recently earned her masters in dance from the University of Arizona in Tucson, will showcase three of her original works at the show.

Student Government and the Department of Public Safety are setting up a new shuttle bus system starting in the spring semester. A shuttle bus will run from downtown to campus at night and around shopping areas during the day.

This Veteran's Day will hold more meaning for two Southeast students who are in the Army National Guard and just returned from Iraq in March.
Jeff DeMent, a sergeant in the Army National Guard and a senior at Southeast, said that the majority of people do not understand what Veteran's Day is all about.
